Linnets survive scare to progress

LINNETS progressed into the 3rd round of the league challenge, despite having to come from a goal behind and play the final 56 minutes with 10 men following the dismissal of Phil Mooney. Ashton took the lead on 24 minutes through Amirildo Glloga latched on to a long ball and managed to nick it beyond the advancing Percival. Following Mooney’s dismissal Rob Whyte curled an absolute beauty into the far top corner to level.
On the hour mark Dan Smith finished well to hand the Linnets the lead they held on to.
