DESIGNER wedding gowns are being sold at cut price to help cancer sufferers.
A bridal show and sale is being held on Sunday, February 12, from 12.30pm to 5pm at The Thistle Hotel, Penny Lane, Haydock, in aid of Willowbrook Hospice in St Helens, which cares for people from Widnes.
Vicky Hughes, aged 27, of Marsh Hall Road, Widnes, has volunteered to be one of the 15 models.
Brand new dresses by Amanda Wyatt and Pronovias, in sizes 10 to 16, will be on show.
Unemployed Vicky, a former events organiser, said: “Cancer is something that affects a lot of people. This is a really good cause.
“You never know when one of your loved ones may need a hospice.
“I used to do a bit of modelling and music videos. This should be good fun. I’m looking forward to it.”
Alison Usher, of Willowbrook Hospice, said: “We provide specialist palliative care to local people with life limiting illnesses.
“We make no charge for this invaluable service which costs £2.6 million a year.
“The support we receive from the local community is fantastic.
“We’d like to thank everyone who is giving up their time free to take part in this bridal show for the hospice.”
